Know About Valentines Day

Story Of Valentines Day :-A Roman Saint Valentine who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on Feb14, 269A.D. the same day that had been devoted to love lotteries. Legend says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the Jailor's daughter who had become his friend and signed it "From Your Valentine". Other aspects of the story say that Saint Valentine served as a Priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine Jailed for defying him. In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside Febuary 14 to honour St. Valentine.

Interesting Fact About Valentines Day:-
  • The First Valentine gift was sent by Duke of Orleans to his wife after he was captured in 1415 A.D.

  • 73% of Valentine Day flowres are bought by men wherease women by only 23% of Valentine flowres.

  • Around 3% of pet owners prefers to give Valentine gifts to their pets as they are more grateful tthan humans.

  • The heart is the most common symbol of romantic love. Ancient cultures believed that the human soul lived in the heart and its red colour is thought to be the most romantic.

  • The red rose was the favourite Flower of Venus, the Roman Goddess of Love.

  • The first Valentine's Day box of chocolates was introduced by Richard Cadbury in 1868 A.D.
